TRAVELING TIPS

Are you traveling from abroad via plane? Here are some tips on how to reach Brno.

Brno also has its own airport, but most international flights do not have a destination there. The easiest way to get to Brno is to choose one of the international airports in the area (Prague, Vienna, Bratislava) and then travel to Brno by train or bus.

Below are some tips on how to travel to Brno from each airport.

Prague

  1. Traveling by bus
From Václav Havel International Airport in Prague, there is a direct bus connection to Brno. The Regio Jet company operates the service, which you can recognize by its (mostly) yellow buses.

Tickets for Regio Jet buses must be purchased in advance online!

There is very little chance that you can buy your ticket on the spot from the driver. The connection is regularly sold out on the day of departure.

  2. Traveling by train
There is no train from Prague International Airport. If you want to travel by train (it's more comfortable and fun but takes longer), you must get to Prague Central Station first.
You can get there, for example, by taking a direct Airport Express bus, which stops right outside the airport hall and in front of the train station. Czech Railways operates this service directly so you can buy a train ticket valid for the bus from the airport. Detailed information can be found here:

There is also public transport from the airport to the Prague city center. More information here:

In the center of Prague, a short walk from Wenceslas Square is the Main Train Station. There is a direct connection to Brno.

We recommend buying train tickets in advance, but buying them on the spot at the train station is possible.

When traveling by train, the best option is to buy a 1st class ticket. When buying in advance, the difference is usually USD 10. The difference in travel comfort is significant.

Connections are provided by Czech Railways
